Weekend plans

Well mommy and daddy's original plans fell through b/c mommy wasn't feeling on Friday and Saturday. But after a few days of meds we couldn't let all weekend go w/o doing something special as a family on such a beautiful day. We decided a nice walk through a local garden.

The garden was full of amazing topiary... this one is called "the hunt"

There were beautiful houses/buildings on the property surrounded by amazing gardens.

We stopped half way and took a break! Mikey wanted to stretch his legs and play in the lush grass for a while.

Pretty in Pink...

Michaella decided she wanted to wear her pretty pink ruffle dress her Aunt Bridget and cousin Claire bought her. Mommy bought her a pretty flower for her hair to go with her pretty dress. Look how pretty she looks....

New car seats!

Mikey has been very upset lately when i would put him in his car seat. Dad and i realized maybe its time for big boy and girl car seats. Check them out....

They LOVE thier new car seats. Mikey looks and sounds a lot more comfy. Whats the best is during a 30 minute car ride they literally talked and laughed to each other the entire ride. Its so wonderful to hear them being so happy. They are growing so fast!

Actually M&M update!

Its been a long time since I've actually had a written update on how Mikey and Michaella are doing. They are officially 8 months old and doing GREAT. As far as weights and heights they seem to be n par but we will know more at our 9 month check up at the end of this month. Lets break this update down into sections otherwise this could go on for days.

Food.......

Oh how they love food. Its so fun to watch them taste new flavors and feel new textures. They quickly went from your basic cereal to stage 2 foods. We quickly realized both Mikey and Michaella did not care for the smooth texture of the stage 1 foods. We moved on to stage two fruits and veggies right away. In most cases we have to add rice cereal to thicken their veggies. But as i expected they will eat the fruit in many different forms.

Recently we started adding meats and moved onto stage 3 meals. So far Mikey's favorite is Turkey and rice and veggies. Michaella loves the stage 3 meals and will eat just about any combo! Whats great about the stage 3 for those that don't know is they have chunks of veggies in them so the rugrats can learn to mash their food in their mouth.

We have tried the following foods: (veggies) peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, mixed veggies; (fruits) apples, pears, peaches, bananas, mango, fruit medley, banana/strawberry/orange; (meats) Turkey, Chicken, Beef; (meals) chicken noodle and veggies, turkey, rice and mixed veggies, chicken and mixed veggies, beef and mixed veggies, turkey and sweet potatoes; (actual fruit) bananas, apples, cantaloupe, ice pops

They love puffs now and have a variety they eat during snack time where they get some juice or water.

Sleep.....

I am happy to report for the most part they are sleeping through the night. With teething at a minimum we are having much more restful nights. With the exception of the occasional paci re-insert i can manage a solid 6 to 7 hours sleep. Naps are going well to. We are down to 1 am nap at 9 am a noontime nap then a late afternoon nap around 3 pm. Then they go to bed around 8:15 pm. Bedtime consists of a bath, clean diapers and jammies, lotion, hair brushed, teeth brushed, nails trimmed, then we read a book and have our bed time bottle. Usually 9 times out of 10 they go right down even if they don't fall asleep during their bottle.

Teeth....

Oh the teeth...!!!!!! Mikey has 3 bottom teeth and 4 top teeth. No I'm not kidding the boy has almost all of his front 8 teeth! The best part is they all popped in with in about 1-2 months. NO FUN! Michaella on the other hand has just her 2 lower incisors.

Activities....

1 word = nonstop!!!!! Michaella is a giant ball of energy. She crawls very well and fast! She has just started climbing on everything including mommy and daddy. She goes from laying to sitting to crawling and back again. Mikey has started to "scoot" he will sit on his hiney and use his legs to pull his hiney along the floor. hahaha! He hasn't learned to get up from the laying position yet but he is getting better and better on his belly every day. God knows how to bless us with small favors everyday bc i think if they were both as active as Michaella i wold be in trouble!

Overall...

They both are happy and very healthy. Mikey's reflux is gone. He no longer takes meds for this. They are both babbling up a storm and I'm pretty convinced they are starting to say "mama" and "dada" They now reach for us when they want to be picked up. We are actively working on sign language. They understand "all done", " more", "baba" and "num nums(food)" they cant sign it yet but i think Michaella is working on something bc when she eats she makes this motion with her hands and i cant tell if she is trying to say more? They LOVE daycare and have a bunch of friends. They are growing fast and doing great. Hopefully more good news after their 9 month check up.

A Summer of 1st

We have been full of fun here are just a few more things we have been up to this summer......

We got to meet horses for the 1st time! Thank you Ms Terrie!

I (Mikey) was less fond of the horses than my sister. I was more concerned with what was for lunch and if there was A/C in Ms terries house!

I(Michaella) LOOOVVVVEEEE horses! I didnt mind the heat either. It was fun seeing all the exciting animals and petting thier noses.

i told mommy already i want a pretty bay arab pony with pink ribbons in his mane. Momy said we will see but im going to write a letter to Santa or grandpa... one of the are sure to cave!

My puppies are so much fun. Especially my p-face. He lets me grab his toes and crawl on him. He is fuzzy and licks my face... YUCK!

I (Mikey) talk a LOTTTT!! I love to play my piano and make music for my mommy.

My sister and i will be famous some day!

I (Michaella) love to jump every where... in my jumper... on mommys lap... sitting in my highchair... you name it i will jump on it!

SURPRISE!!!!

Daddy had to work on fathers day so we decided to ask mommy if we could visit Grandpa!!! That night last minute mommy packed all our things fed us dinner and loaded us into the car. Next thing we knew it was saturday and we were at grandma and grandpas! Grandpas was so excited to see us. He hadnt seen us since we were 4 months old! So to him we were all grown up. We missed our daddy and called him often. Mommy said we had to make certain we were home by monday so we could spend monday with dada for fathers day which we were very much looking forward too! But in the mean time we had a blast with our GMA & GPA!!!

I (Michaella) loooovvve my gpa! Im a grandpas girl!!!!

While we were at gmas & gpas mommy bought us straws for our babas and we learned to feed ourselves. This made mommy really happy and we loved it bc we didnt have to wait for each other to eat if one of us was being slow.

Then Gpa couldnt control himself in toys r us with us and he bought us a toy! Of course Gpa would buy us our 1st laptop!

Mommy thought it was funny to put is in the laundry basket.... I (Michaella) clearly felt otherwise! and Mikey paid the price.

Our cousin Christopher was soooo much fun to play with! He took really good care of us too. We miss him a lot!

Gma is funny when she feeds us our food. She makes funny noises and makes us laugh! We like when gma feeds us.
