First Baby Craft hahaha!!!

With the baby showers coming up i have received the invitations and i want to cherish every moments of my babies even the showers!!! So i thought it would be fun to make a memory box. Here it is....

I spent 3 hours in Michael's trying to find the perfect embellishments.... well 3 hours later and 2 very swollen feet i settled!!!! I'm not 100% happy with the final product but it works! I never thought finding gender neutral decorations would be so hard not to mention finding embellishments that say Baby Shower or heck just the word baby!!! I wanted something clean/modern and not bottles and bibs... well there are no bottles and bibs but its not the look i was going for?!?!? The whole project took less than an hour to get together, so for that i am thankful! I think the colors go great in the nursery... so thats a plus. I can always go back and update it if i get the energy and time! But for my first dabble in arts and crafts since college i am proud of myself.

We got our Stroller and Car seats!!!

Mike and I are so blessed that my brothers were able to purchase our stroller/car seat combo!!! We wanted to go with a Graco Duo Glider Stroller and the matching Snugride car seats to make traveling as a family as easy as possible. Its a big load off our shoulders to know at least we have one big item!!! Now its time to put it all together.....

It was fun spending a little time together doing baby stuff. The stroller took no time to put together and rides GREAT (well at least around the house hahahah)!!!! Check out the final product.....

24 week check in.....

We're 24 weeks... almost done w/ the 2nd trimester!!!

I feel like my belly has been growing so fast! Very quickly day to day tasks have gotten more difficult but I'm not complaining. Guess its time to slow down??? The last week has been very difficult and scary.

My mother came out last weekend to help my hubby paint the nursery and help me answer some final registry questions i had. We had so much fun but I may have pushed myself a little. I felt pretty good again by Tuesday night. On Wed night Mike was off so we ran some errands and got some diner. When i got home my ankles were GONE!!! When i went in the bedroom to change i saw my feet for the first time all day. My feet were so swollen they felt like they would explode. I ran/waddled (hahaha) into the room that Mike was in and just pointed to my legs. He dragged me down stairs and told me to get on the couch and not move. He put ice packs on my ankles, propped them up as high as i could comfortably get them and he proceeded to rub them trying to get the fluid back up my leg. While i drank bottle after bottle of water. I proceeded to be up 1/2 the night in the bathroom, but by the am the swelling had gone down a little. I was exhausted and felt like a truck had hit me. My feet were killing me, i was tired, my head ached and my eyes were swollen from all the crying i had been doing for 1/2 the night as well! But i had a deadline at work and against Mikes wishes went in anyway. When i got home that night the first thing Mike did was look at my feet/ankles. They were still pretty swollen so again he planted me on the couch with water in hand, ice on my legs and he rubbed away! Friday my ankles were much better but still swollen. I got through the work day and came home and just layed on the couch for the rest of Friday and spent all day Sunday 1/2 asleep on the couch. I am MUCH better today thank God!!!! A few days of rest was exactly what the babies and i needed.

I have realized that carrying twins can be much more stressful on my body than i originally thought. I need to start taking things slower and delegate more work when i am in the office b/c if i keep pushing myself i will end up on bed rest which is the last thing Mike or i want.

But good news... my mom and Mike did a ton of work and the nursery is ready to be filled. We were very blessed to get 2 hand me down cribs and a changing table so we just need to add the fun stuff! While my mom was in town we bought Baby A's bedding on clearance!!! Its perfect and the best part is my mom is so creative she came up with a great way to use the valance which we wont be using as well as how to turn the diaper holder into something creative for the wall. Now i just need to get Baby B's bedding. I cant wait to get the nursery together after the shower to take pics for everyone!

We had our 2nd ultra sound yesterday it was sooooo nice to see the babies again. I will scan the pics at work tomorrow and post them ASAP. Both babies according to the tech are doing great! I am looking forward to my next appointment on Wed. to hear the good news from the doctor.

More later in the week after the doctors visit!!! Off to eat some ice cream and cuddle with the pups!

22 week check in...

Its already been 22 weeks!!!! The babies seem to be doing great and mom is growing quickly!!!

The last ob/gyn visit was exciting hearing the news from the doc and all he had to discuss. We talked about everything from the birthing options to nutrition. Seems i am anemic and this is common with multiples. I was put on iron supplements and told to eat more. My water intake was increased as well. If i thought eating and drinking for 1 baby was hard... eating for 2 babies is even harder. I was never a small girl and never was told that i am not eating enough... hahaha I kind of like this.

As of right now Dr.M says the babies look great and are both (at the time of the ultra sound) 10oz. There is only a 10% difference between baby A and baby B which is very good and very normal! They both had really good heartbeats at he doc visit and we finally got to hear both heartbeats... it was so amazing! i can not wait to see them again in a week and a half! Due to the fact that we are having twins our appointments are now closer and i will be receiving more ultrasounds. As our due date gets closer the appointments will increase and so will the ultra sounds. Then starting 30 weeks we will have to go to the hospital to have their hearts monitored. Lots of tests and lots of doctors visits but its all worth it to ensure our babies are doing great!

I'm off to go pick a paint color for the babies room!!! its so exciting to start decorating!

Pictures... FINALLY!!

The bigger picture on top is the first shot we saw.. its both of their heads. They are facing one another and Baby A (girl) is back by my spine and Baby B (boy) is more towards the front. I love this shot even thought you cant see their little faces. Knowing they are facing each other makes me think they are in there playing "patty cake" or some game... haha or just punching each other in the face hahaha! Either way I love them both and CAN NOT wait to give them kisses!

The images of the 4 pics together are a series of shots the tech was able to get... but she admitted it was hard to get a good shot of either of them b/c of how close they were to each other and how they were facing each other. The upper left corner of the series of pictures is what i think is a profile of Baby A's face and arm (she has her hand by her face maybe she is getting ready to suck her thumb or bop her brother on top of the head?) The picture in the upper right is the same as the enlarged picture to the right. The bottom left picture is our NOT shy Baby B. This is the shot where he showed us all what we can finally call him hahaha! (for those of you that still don't see it hahaha... its a butt shot... see his two legs and hinney? And yes that's his pee pee in the middle) The final picture lower right is a front view of Baby B. you can see his eyes, nose and mouth.

We hope next ultra sound we can get some nice pictures of Baby A since her brother hogged the lime light! I cant believe after seeing them how much i love them BOTH already! I thought i loved my baby before i saw the ultra sound but watching them wiggle and move and kick and seeing each of their little bodies has brought me so much closer to them!!! I cant imagine the feeling i will have when i get so see them for the first time!

WOw still in shock... but we are actually mommy and daddy to TWO babies!!!

Good things come in twos!!!!

We had our first ultra sound today and you are seeing that picture correctly... we are having TWINS!!!!! Baby A is a girl and baby B is a boy!!!!

It all started out very normal. The tech gooped up my belly and used the wand thingy to rub the gel all around but she stopped right away and turned to me to ask... "Has anybody told you anything yet?" My heart instantly sunk and i almost started crying. I answered "no". The tech smiled and said "well there is two in there". I instantly started crying and shaking... i looked over at Mike who was standing at my feet. He had apparently seen the two heads pop across the screen and he was grinning from ear to ear! It was an amazing moment for the both of us! In a matter of seconds our lives have changed forever but in an exciting scary way!

The ultra sound took forever b/c Baby B was sitting on top of his sister making the techs life very hard to get good shots of her. Over all we were in the room for almost 2 hours! The tech said by what she saw they both look very healthy. Baby A's heart rate was 128 BPM and Baby B was 141 BPM. One of them measured 19 weeks 2 days gestation and the other was 19 weeks and 5 days... unfortunately we didn't find out who was who.

It was so exciting to see our babies for the first time! We got to see Baby's B little face but he was being a camera hog hahaha! The tech went through their entire anatomy from kidneys to heart to bladder. It was amazing what they can see when they are that small! Unfortunately since baby B was hogging the camera we will have to go back to get the rest of Baby A's anatomy. Hopefully our little girl will beat her brother up a little and get her moment in the spot light!!! While the tech was performing the ultra sound it was amazing how much they were both moving and how much i could feel.

The whole experience will be something Mike and i will never forget! Its still a little surreal but we are starting to wrap our head around it! I cant wait to share more i am sure we will have lots to share!

mommy, Daddy, Baby A & Baby B!!!

Less than 24 hours!!!

Tomorrow is the big ultra sound! Mike and i are so excited to see our baby for the first time. I know Mike is excited to find out the baby's sex as am i but... i would be happy with a boy or girl i just want to know what to start shopping for and give our poor baby a name!

Admittedly i am a little nervous about tomorrow. What if there is something wrong with the baby, what if... what if... what if a million things have been running through my head!!!??? I don't know if i could handle bad news right now... it has been a very stressful week and weekend i could really use some exciting good news right now.

On a happy note!!!! Yesterday i was sitting on the couch talking to Mike before he went to work and i felt this weird little quick twitch from the inside of my belly. It was strong and felt very much what i imagined a kick might feel like. I sat quiet for 5-10 minutes and it happened again. I was so excited... Mike just looked at me funny and asked me why i was holding my belly. I could see his face light up when i told him what i felt. I cant wait until he can feel it too! I was happy it happened a few more times all w/in an hour from the original kick. Then i guess the baby decided it was uncomfy and flipped b/c i haven't felt it that strong since, but i have felt the baby a tiny bit.

We have our next OB/Gyn appointment a week from today (07/06/09). I will be anxious to hear what the doctor has to say about our ultra sound! I pray tomorrow the tech will be allowed to tell us the baby's sex and i don't have to wait for our ob appointment!!! I cannot wait to put our baby's first pic up here for everyone to see!!

Well lunch is almost over and i have to get back to work! We miss everyone very much! xoxoxox

It's about time... 18 week 4 day belly pic!!

Here it is... another belly pic. 18 weeks 4 days. My belly is getting rounder and the baby is getting bigger each day! Its hard to tell from the picture... but i cant tell if i am carrying wide or straight out. There is a wives tale that says out means boy... wide means girl. Mike is convinced there is a boy and girl in there (yes he is convinced we are having twins haha) and that's why i am both out and wide hahaha!! I say its just b/c i am fat. I suppose we will get our answer in a few days!



Each day i feel different sensations in my belly. This makes me more and more convinced than i am feeling the baby!! I cannot wait to be able to share the joy of feeling the baby with Mike. He loves to touch my belly as it is and his favorite thing to do is stick his finger in my belly button like its a popper on a turkey and he wants to see how far along i am hahaha! Its very CUTE! We are both very convinced my belly button will be an outy in no time!

18 week check in....

I cant believe we are already 18 weeks along! Apparently our little one is the size of a sweet potato!?!? Since sweet potato's vary in size so much lets just say the little one is about 5.5" to 6" long. Getting bigger everyday!
Apparently the baby is becoming increasingly mobile "yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching and swallowing" I think the last few days the "bubbles" i have been feeling in my belly are most likely the baby! I cant wait until when i feel something i can say for certain is the baby and not gas hahaha!

I have been doing OK but have been having killer back aches and i have been extremely exhausted. I called the ob/gyn on Monday to see if they should check my thyroid again. The doctor sent me that day to get some blood drawn and heard back from the ob on Friday saying everything was fine but my GP received a copy of the blood work and she was concerned i was a bit anemic. That would explain the fatigue, racing heart & overall yucky feeling. Good news is the anemia unless it gets out of control wont affect the baby but my thyroid could and that was normal. So i feel better knowing the baby seems to be doing well and not at risk. I have been trying to eat better and more often. I have started some "baby" yoga and other exercise things we can get "on demand". Hopefully it helps.

I have been very sore all over... back ache, feet hurt, hips hurt cant sleep but I did put on about 10 pounds at my last appointment so i am sure the sudden weight gain has a lot to do with my body revolting on me. Since i saw that 10 pound gain at my last appointment i have been trying my best to eat as healthy as i can. I know weight gain is expected and healthy... just don't want to gain too much or too little (which is NEVER a problem for me hahah!)

Despite all the yucky aches and pains i wouldn't trade the ability to be a mom for anything! i am desperately awaiting our 1st ultra sound... which is in 9 days! Hopefully our little one wont be shy and we can find out what we are having and we can finally stop saying "the baby" or "little one" or any other silly name that strikes me at the time! I also can not wait for that first glimpse of what our baby looks like. Just the thought of seeing his/her adorable little face for the first time is overwhelming!!

Well off to have a snack before bed!

16 week belly!!!

Well here it is... my belly 16 weeks! I've been bad about taking my belly pics... i apologize!

I wish i had worn a maternity shirt for this picture but... oh well. We're getting bigger by the day!
